New England Patriots Wide Reciever, Brandin Cooks

Brandin Cooks has been solid in his first season with the New England Patriots. Fantasy owners were hoping for more, as he was drafted in the second or third round of many drafts. He has lived up to the lofty expectations but has yet to truly breakout.

Cooks has had one monster game thus far this season, as he went for 131 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion against the Houston Texans. He has been close other times, as he has been tackled inside the five on multiple occasions and draw a number of long pass interference penalties that would have been big gains.

The Chargers aren’t great at defending wide receivers for fantasy purposes, so Cook has a chance to have his breakout game. Cooks has had at least 65 yards or one touchdown in five of seven games.

Athletic, shifty players such as Tyreek Hill, Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. have had success against the Chargers this season. Cooks fits the mold of that type of player and should find success against Los Angeles as well.
