Los Angeles Chargers Quarterback, Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers is one of the most underrated quarterbacks in fantasy football. Despite not getting drafted in some leagues, Rivers is ranked in the top-10 of most fantasy leagues this season. He continues to produce and fly under the radar. If you are in a bye week crunch this week, Rivers is a great player to target.

The Patriots have struggled mightily against the pass this season. They were able to stifle Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7. It was the first time this season the Patriots held an opponent under 300 yards passing. Is that a trend that is going to start, or just an aberration?

Rivers could easily make that look like an aberration. Rivers is averaging 259.4 yards per game and has thrown for under 270 yards in three consecutive weeks. All three of those games were victories, but if the Chargers are going to pick up an upset victory in New England, they will need Rivers to sling the ball around.

Rivers is worth a start based on the Patriots performance this season. They looked good against the Falcons, but have to show it consistently before we start fading players for our fantasy football lineups.
