Patriots tease big uniform change ahead of Seahawks Week 2 matchup

It's hard not to be nostalgic about things when you're a fan of the New England Patriots and reflecting upon all the success they achieved during their two-decade dynasty. It's even more unavoidable when looking at where the team has been since Tom Brady left and how far they've fallen from their permanent throne atop the NFL.

Enjoying past accomplishments, like winning six Super Bowls and watching the greatest quarterback of all time break dozens of league records, is certainly prevalent among the fanbase. But there's also the understanding that getting back to being the best team in the league isn't an overnight thing.

While that is certainly true, some things that are longed for that are easily attainable with today's team. The number one thing? The return of silver pants with the Patriots home uniforms.

Since Brady left and the introduction of the color rush uniforms, the Patriots have switched their home uniforms to being a blue-on-blue ensemble that fans have grown to despise. Over the years, they have made their opinions known about wanting to see the silver pants return, with even some former players advocating for the change.

The organization heard it all, and the players wore silver pants against the Bills at their first meeting of the 2023 season, but that wasn't enough for fans.

Fortunately, the Patriots social media just teased the possible return of the loved attire for this week's matchup with the Seahawks.

On Thursday morning, the Patriots' social media team took to Twitter/X to post a video of them shopping at the Pro Shop ahead of the team's home opener on Sunday afternoon.

In the video, they are seen picking up a pair of replica silver pants, which caught the attention of fans immediately.

Although it wasn't explicitly said, it seems fair to assume that the beloved silver pants will return for Sunday's game. It was something Jerod Mayo had spoken about earlier this offseason, with rumors suggesting the team was considering bringing the uniform back in the near future.

This could be the start of what's to come.
