If anyone had said before the start of the 2025 season that Daniel Jones would be the starting quarterback for the Colts and would look like one of the best in the league during an impressive run, not a single soul would believe you. But if the prediction that Jones would suffer a season-ending injury, causing the Colts to look for a new starter, and that turned out to be Phillip Rivers, that would be considered more unbelievable.

But that's the current story going around the NFL, and now the 44-year-old has been signed to Indianapolis' practice squad as their potential starter for the rest of the season.

Despite not suiting up in the NFL for nearly five years, the longtime Chargers quarterback has returned to the league and hopes to become what the Colts need to continue on their playoff path and maybe regain the division from the Jaguars.

It's a bizarre turn of events, but unsurprising to Patriots fans, who can't help but laugh at the franchise that will forever be hated for the chaos they created with Deflategate. That has prompted some legends to respond in the best way possible, and it couldn't be more fitting after the news of Rivers' signing.

Julian Edelman's podcast was quick to mock the Colts for their interest in Phillip Rivers

The social media account for Julian Edelman's podcast "Games with Names" was quick to give their input on the initial rumors of the Colts bringing in Rivers for a workout on Monday night.

They took to Twitter/X to post an infamous meme known to Patriots Nation, and made a banner the Colts can hang up in their stadium, along with their other participation trophies.

It might be fair to assume this could also be posted on the "Dudes on Dudes" podcast's social channels, as well, considering Rob Gronkowski has made it well-known that he still holds a grudge against the Colts and will forever despise and mock them for the ridiculous Deflategate scandal.

Although that would be fun to see, at least Patriots fans can enjoy that even some of the best players of the dynasty era are also laughing at the Colts for their desperation.
