After news broke earlier this week regarding serious allegations against wide receiver Stefon Diggs, the Patriots are now dealing with another unfortunate situation, this time involving defensive tackle Christian Barmore.
On Wednesday morning, it was reported by WCVB Boston that the veteran is "facing a domestic assault charge, according to court documents out of Attleborough District Court" and has been "charged with one count of assault and battery on a family/household member."
The Patriots were quick to release a statement to express their awareness of the situation and shared that Barmore is on the books for an arraignment in February.
The #Patriots statement on Christian Barmore:

“The New England Patriots are aware of reports regarding a pending February arraignment involving Christian Barmore, which stems from an alleged domestic incident that occurred in August. The Patriots were made aware at the time of…
This all comes just days before their season finale game against the Dolphins, with the playoffs just around the corner.
Because of that, Mike Vrabel promptly responded to the latest news surrounding both players while speaking to reporters on Wednesday morning.
Patriots HC Mike Vrabel on level of disappointment in charges against Stefon Diggs and Christian Barmore:

"Not disappointed at all. These are allegations. It's things that we have to handle, and every day that there's distractions—some are smaller than others—I'm confident that…
Interestingly, when it comes to Barmore, the statement released by the team doesn't read the same as the one about Diggs, which Vrarbel somewhat addressed.
He also shared that because the alleged incident occurred in August, they were made aware of it then and reported it to the NFL at the time. Now that it's become a legal case, however, there are additional steps for the league and the team.
Mike Vrabel doesn't say whether Christian Barmore denied the allegations, something the team specified in its statement about Stefon Diggs.

The #Patriots said in their Barmore statement they learned of the incident after it occurred in August and reported it to the NFL.
Given the very serious nature of the allegations involving Barmore and Diggs, it's essential that the Patriots address them accordingly and not allow the rest of the team to get distracted from the task at hand: beating the Dolphins and going into the playoffs.
