After Tom Brady decided to leave the Patriots after the 2019 season, the organization seemed to want a complete overhaul going into the new era without the legendary quarterback. Besides the obvious that comes with preparing a team post-Brady, among the many changes were the uniforms, and complaints from the fans began almost immediately.
The Brady-era uniform combination for home games of blue jerseys and silver pants became a thing of the past, and the blue-on-blue look became the standard. It wasn't something the fans were interested in at all and made their feelings known over the years, which led to the silver pants' return during the 2024 season.
But it had never been reported to be a permanent change. While that still hasn't been revealed, Mike Vrabel has already made a statement with the Patriots' preseason opener by having the team wear the fan favorite combination again.
Patriots fans hope the return of the silver pants is permament moving forward
The first glimpse at the 2025 Patriots happened on Friday evening, as quarterback Drake Maye led the team to the field for their game against the Commanders, not long after the statue unveiling for Tom Brady just outside of the stadium.

It immediately prompted a positive reaction from Patriots fans, who have longed for the silver pants over the last five years to once again become the home game attire.
The hope is that this is a good sign for that to become a reality this season, and the team will go back to the uniforms we all grew to love. Hopefully, they will start winning with the silver pants, though, as their record in recent years during their sporadic decision to wear them has not been excellent.
But considering there is a lot of optimism surrounding the 2025 team, that shouldn't be a problem (hopefully).
