The Patriots dynasty was something that has never been seen before, not just in the NFL but also in professional sports. While dynasties are not unheard of, especially in professional football, none of those in the past lasted as long as the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady era of utter domination, making their dynasty one for the ages.

Although it ended when Tom Brady left the team in 2020, it is still referred to every season when discussing the current production in the NFL, especially since the Chiefs have created their own dynasty over the last five years.

That has inevitably forced people to compare the Patriots and Chiefs and their accomplishments, with most believing that what Kansas City has done is far superior to that of New England, even if they haven't even hit the halfway point of their dynasty.

It also has brought out the debate regarding quarterbacks, with Tom Brady being disrespected and his incredible resume diminished because of the rise of Patrick Mahomes. Some claim the Chiefs quarterback is already the greatest of all time, far surpassing Brady's impressive 20+ year career.

With the Chiefs on the cusp of a three-peat this weekend, that debate dominated the conversation all week long, with fans and analysts declaring Mahomes as the best quarterback to ever walk planet Earth if he added another Super Bowl win to his resume. But that was far from the case on Sunday, proving once again that he is no Tom Brady.

Patrick Mahomes' stinky Super Bowl LIX performance proves Tom Brady really is the GOAT

With immensely high expectations on his shoulders coming into this game, Mahomes quickly showed he couldn't live up to them with his questionable decisions and fear-riddled performance. It wasn't anything fans had seen from him before other than the Super Bowl against the Brady-led Buccaneers at the end of the 2020 season.

From bad passes and a lack of run game to throwing a pick-six to a wide-open Cooper Dejean, it was not a good start for the alleged quarterback GOAT.

Mahomes followed that up not long later by throwing another interception right outside the end zone to Zack Braun, making it an easy touchdown score for the Eagles to go up 24-0 right before halftime.

That led to Mahomes ending the first half with just 6/14 completions for 33 yards and two interceptions (one of which was a pick-six). To make matters even worse, the running backs had just three yards on the ground.

The second half was a little bit better, since they were finally able to actually score some points, but it was still no match for an aggressive Eagles front seven. That led to Mahomes ending the night with a stat line of 20/31 completions for 207 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.

(Mahomes did decide to stat pad at the end of the game, throwing a 50-yard touchdown to Xavier Worthy with less than two minutes left in the game.)

He was no match for the Eagles defensive line, who dominated Mahomes and the Chiefs offense all night long, proving the impact that Vic Fangio has in the NFL even more.

Mahomes' inability to overcome that or make the proper adjustments is also a major differentiating factor between him and Brady, as the former Patriots quarterback was the best at reading defenses and making the necessary changes to be successful. Had Mahomes really possessed GOAT DNA, he probably could have accomplished that, too.

Instead, he put on another stinker on primetime television, one that had Brady in the broadcast booth to make it even better for Patriots fans.
