The Kansas City Chiefs are set to reach a milestone if they can beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX (59). Doing so will cement a three-peat, winning three consecutive Super Bowls, a feat never accomplished before. If they do, it's a groundbreaking achievement for the magnificent Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs. If they surpass the Patriots' dynasty in winning three in a row, more power to them.
A Chief's win in SB LIX will be a milestone in Super Bowl history, though Green Bay won three straight NFL championships in the depression era, from 1929-1931. Regardless, the accomplishment is undeniable, and Patriot Nation should render due respect.
Yet, as consolation, there are several New England Patriots' accomplishments that neither the Chiefs nor any future NFL team will surpass. Let's recall them and revel in the fact that no team will ever eclipse these Patriots' feats.
A Patriots' win that won't be surpassed
Certain games and in-game circumstances, especially Super Bowl games, rise above and beyond the norm of mere greatness. The Patriots own the very best-ever Super Bowl win. It was Super Bowl LI (51) in Houston on February 5, 2017, when the Patriots played the Atlanta Falcons. It was a Super Bowl for the ages, one that will never be overshadowed in drama and unbelievability.
The Patriots trailed Atlanta, 28-3 Atlanta, with a little over 17 minutes left on the clock. It was a classic tale of two games. One was the first three quarters, when the Falcons, led by quarterback, Matt Ryan and receiver, Julio Jones, who had four receptions for 85 yards, dominated New England. The Pats had no answers for Atlanta's offense and a passing attack that carved their defense to pieces.
The Patriots' subsequent comeback was as unbelievable as it was unexpected. Led by the indomitable Tom Brady, New England adopted a "refuse to lose" attitude under the most dire circumstances imaginable.
Brady and the Pats roared back to tie the game, including scoring two vital two-point conversions. They then won it in overtime. That comeback will stand the test of time. si.com called it, "the most improbable comeback in Super Bowl history." Indeed.

Two Plays will stand as the greatest in Super Bowl history
Accompanying the Atlanta comeback win as an unsurpassable accomplishment are two plays that will rule the roost as the best in Super Bowl history. One happened in that same, previously mentioned Super Bowl XLIX (49) against Atlanta.
Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman made what is considered the most incredible catch in Super Bowl history and NFL history to boot. Edelman, with three Atlanta defenders draped all over him, somehow, some way managed to snatch a deflected ball about two inches off the turf for a critical catch during the Patriots' comeback. That catch will never be surpassed.
Last but not least, the Patriots' achievements that will stand as the best ever occurred in Super Bowl LIX (49), held in Phoenix on February 1, 2015. In that one, Seattle decided to forego another run by bruising running back Marshawn Lynch and attempted a pass.
nfl.com summarises it nicely,
"In University of Phoenix Stadium on the first day of February in 2015, the Seahawks were within a yard of a second straight NFL title. It was Super Bowl XLIX, and they trailed the Patriots, 28-24, with 26 seconds left but had the ball on a second-and-goal from the New England 1.
Out of the shotgun, Seattle’s quarterback, Russell Wilson, took the snap and zipped a quick slant to wide receiver Ricardo Lockette, who initially looked open. Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler, though, an undrafted rookie out of West Alabama, read the play and reached Lockette at the same time as the ball.
With lightning-quick reflexes Butler caught the ball at the goal line for an interception and went down with it to clinch the Super Bowl for the Patriots, their fourth title in franchise history."
Whatever the outcome of the upcoming Super Bowl and all succeeding ones, these three accomplishments will stand the test of time as the best. There will never be another comeback game, catch, or interception that will top them. While it's not easy to watch (or not) anyone else but the Patriots win a Super Bowl, Patriot Nation can at least revel in these achievements. They'll never be surpassed.
