The NFL's roster cut deadline has come and passed, and now we know what the Patriots' 2025 roster will look like, at least, for the next few days. Mike Vrabel has already stated that the initial roster won't look at all the same come Week 1, so plenty of changes are set to take place, especially since they land at No. 4 in the waiver wire.

With the latest batch of cuts, which included 2022 first-round pick Cole Strange, it's more than apparent that the previous coaching staffs have made it difficult for the team to be successful, given years of subpar draft classes in a row.

It has prompted analysts and fans to look back on the last few classes, with the Boston Herald's Zack Cox emphasizing how few Patriots draft picks remain after today's cutdown.

It has long been a part of what has plagued the team the most in recent years, and partly why Robert Kraft made the decision to fire Bill Belichick last year.

The hope is that with the new regime in charge, things will change, but even that is questionable with some of the decisions they made with this year's draft class.

The Patriots continue to botch their drafts, directly impacting their success on the field

With players like Javon Baker, Marte Mapu, and Caedan Wallace's futures still up in the air, the Patriots' list of draft busts continues to rise. It certainly doesn't help that they also chose to release this year's fifth-round pick, LB Bradyn Swinson, although all signs pointed to him being let go.

It's just the latest in a long list of poor decisions involving the incoming rookies, and even then, questions still surround kicker Andres Borregales, who made the team over impressive returning specialist Parker Romo.

Despite it all, there is somewhat of a silver lining, as multiple undrafted free agents (including WR Efton Chism III and LB Elijah Ponder) made the team, both of whom had standout summers and seemed to secure their roles early on.

If they can become a pivotal part of the Patriots team, then there might be reason to ignore some of the draft failures of this year. However, that doesn't negate the horrific classes that Belichick compiled, along with the one season under Mayo, during which Eliot Wolf was involved.
