The New England Patriots may be fresh off getting waxed in Super Bowl 60 against the Seattle Seahawks, but fans can walk away from this season secure in the knowledge that they have a high-end quarterback in Drake Maye and one of the league's best coaches in Mike Vrabel.
Former Patriots defensive back Logan Ryan has seen the type of impact Vrabel can have on a team, and he knows that this team is positioned well for success in the future to Vrabel's ability to develop talent while featuring his star players.
In an exclusive interview with FanSided on behalf of Quest Nutrition, Ryan, who played under Vrabel on a Tennessee Titans team that knocked Tom Brady out of the postseason and got to an AFC Championship game, knows that Vrabel is the right guy going forward for New England.
"He gets the best out of his best players," Ryan said. "That's what Vrabel has done for Drake Maye at quarterback. He got an MVP-type year out of his quarterback in Year 2, I think Vrabel is so great at that, being a former player, getting his best players to be the best.
Logan Ryan explains why Mike Vrabel is perfect coach for Patriots
Vrabel hasn't taken long to put his stamp on this franchise, as the Patriots went from winning just four games the year prior to 14 in the regular season before grinding out three postseason victories. In Year 1 of an alleged rebuild with many of the same players, such a quick rise is nothing short of astounding.
Under Vrabel's watch, Maye had a better season than anyone could have expected, the receiver room managed to produce despite a lack of depth, and the defense turned themselves around despite retaining many of the players from Mayo's four-win squad.
Losing in the way the Patriots did is a brutal way to go down in defeat, but this isn't enough to erase all of the good things that Vrabel has done in New England. The team looked rudderless under Jerod Mayo, and it took all of one season for the Pats to get themselves back on track.
The Patriots have checked the two hardest boxes by landing a franchise quarterback in Maye and a great coach in Vrabel. Ryan has tons of experience playing for Vrabel, and he knows as well as anyone how well he prepares week in and week out.
