The 2025 NFL season has come to an end, and, unfortunately, the New England Patriots were not the team hoisting the Lombardi Trophy when it was all said and done. It's a tough blow considering this team's run of success in the Super Bowl, but hey, no one predicted that the Patriots would already be back in the Super Bowl, yet they managed to get to the final game of the year, regardless.
While it didn't go New England's way this time around, Patriots cornerback Carlton Davis said something that every fan needs to hear after the loss.

As difficult as the loss is to stomach, the Patriots weren't supposed to be here in the first place. This is a team with a head coach in his first year on the job, a second-year quarterback, and a lot of question marks on the roster. That same team managed to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
This should only be the beginning for this bunch, and that's why Davis' message is one that fans should truly believe in. Maye nearly won the MVP after a prolific 2025 season, and we all know that Vrabel is one hell of a coach. The Patriots also have plenty of money to work with this offseason, so even more help is on the way for a team fresh off a Super Bowl appearance.
Hopefully, if Davis' prediction comes true and the Patriots do make it back in the next few years, the end result will be a happier one next time. For now, however, Pats fans will have to wear this one. A lot of people are celebrating this defeat, but again, the future appears very, very bright for this young Patriots team.
