1. Tom Brady

Tom Brady’s inclusion on this list was confirmed pretty much the moment it leaked on social media that he’d be returning to Foxborough with the Buccaneers in Week 4. After he amassed his seventh world championship at age 43 last season, there’s simply no way we could’ve justified giving anybody else the top spot.

While there were long stretches last season during which Brady and Tampa Bay looked like anything but title contenders, the three-time MVP’s greatness (and the Bucs’ swarming defense) ultimately proved to be the ultimate elixir.

For the year, Brady completed 65.7% of his passes for 4,633 yards, which ranked second in the league, to go with 40 touchdowns (which tied for second) and 12 interceptions. Given that the Buccaneers will be returning every player who started on offense last season, you have to think Brady has a good chance of racking up similar numbers in 2021.

Tom Brady being the best QB the Patriots will play in 2021 feels…weird.

Was it harsh to give Brady the top spot over Allen? Perhaps, but last year proved that anybody who second-guesses the 14-time Pro Bowler and whether he could be on the verge of falling off a cliff (cc: Max Kellerman) is an absolute fool.

We can’t speak for everybody, especially Brady’s most boisterous haters, but we have zero intentions of looking foolish doubting the consensus greatest football player of all time.

Sorry, Patriots fans, but Brady was fully deserving of the No. 1 spot here.
