Cam Newton of the New England Patriots was fired up to land in Boston.

Patriots QB Cam Newton didn’t want to talk when he arrived in Boston. He just wanted to work.

He gained immediate entry into the world of Boston sports media, of course, accosted by a camera crew and thrust live on the air, even though he had no intention of speaking at Logan Airport.

The way he handled that situation was perfect, though it didn’t give much of a window into Newton’s emotions, at the time.

If you were looking into more of an insight about what made Newton “ecstatic” to be in Boston, then look no further than his latest Instagram post. Yes, the man with the robust social media presence documented the whole thing himself.

A little timely J. Cole, and a declaration that, yes, he’s ready to work, while surveying what could be his new kingdom. Not bad. Pats Nation will even forgive the mention of the (shudder) Eagle.

Contrast this with Newton’s over-tired arrival at Logan and the way he was captured on the video footage he was unable to manicure, and you’ll see a much-preferred side of the QB.

Patriots fans should double back and focus on the message here. If you must pay attention to the hurried airport video, note that Newton didn’t say anything negative, and expressed excitement about finally arriving in Boston. He simply didn’t want to talk, probably following a long fight under duress (after all, who enjoys flying during a pandemic?).

Flash to the message Newton was able to control, and it’s clear he wanted to remember his arrival at his new home. Would Newton have Instagrammed a wistful portrait if he hadn’t wanted to recall this day fondly forever?

Whether his Logan Airport statements were Belichickian or just bleary-eyed doesn’t matter. What matters is the message: he’s happy, and he’s ready.
