Patriots QB Cam Newton posted a video of him throwing to WR Julian Edelman.

It goes without saying that Cam Newton’s affinity for posting workout videos is treasured by Patriots fans, who surely want nothing more than for his debut in a New England uniform to arrive as soon as possible.

However, if there’s anything better than watching Newton pump iron with intense background music, it’s him getting in work with his new teammates — especially with the man who should be his new favorite weapon.

We’ve already seen footage of the 31-year-old quarterback running drills with wide receivers Mohamed Sanu and N’Keal Harry, and while that was a cool watch for fans in Foxborough, it won’t mean as much as this newest clip.

On Wednesday, Newton posted a video on Instagram of him getting a throwing session in with No. 1 wideout Julian Edelman. This appears to be the first time the two NFL stars have hit the field together since the former MVP signed a one-year deal with the Patriots two weeks ago.

Well, it looks like Newton and Edelman have already pushed through introductions and are seemingly wasting no time getting to work. The veteran pass catcher previously welcomed the three-time Pro Bowler to New England in a clever tweet that paid homage to the gunslinger’s preferred font.

The brief clip from the workout shows the former throwing a dime of an out route to the latter, who had some words of encouragement for Newton after hauling in the pass.

Considering that offseason workouts were scrapped due to the global pandemic and the growing potential of the preseason being canceled (also due to COVID-19), it seems that private sessions might be the best way for Newton and Edelman to develop their chemistry before the start of the 2020 regular season.
