Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski

Rob Gronkowski has been a frustrating player for fantasy football owners in recent seasons. With all the injuries he has dealt with, he has been a risky draft pick in season-long leagues. However, when he is active, he is someone that needs to be in everyone’s lineup.

This is one of those times. Gronkowski is chomping at the bit to get back on the field after missing Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He looks like he is on track to play this week, which is good news for fantasy football owners everywhere.

The Jets have been good against opposing tight ends this season. They are allowing the 10th fewest points to the tight end position in fantasy football. However, just like at quarterback, the Jets haven’t faced much of a challenge from the tight end spot. That will end with Gronkowski.

Even if hampered, Gronkowski will be the best tight end the Jets face. The Jets young safeties will be tested by Gronkowski working the middle of the field. While the young combo of Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye have had great starts to their rookie campaigns, Gronkowski provides a huge challenge.

Expect the Patriots to challenge the young safeties early and often. It could result in a big game from Gronkowski, who will be looking to make up for lost time after missing last week’s game.
