Round Four, Pick 140: Brandon Coleman (WR, Rutgers)

Hey look our first Rutgers player! The Patriots have done a really nice job of loading up at the wide receiver position, and they will look to continue to do so in the draft. Brandon Coleman brings one thing that Patriots fans have been clamouring for: size. He comes in at 6’6 and 225 pounds, and while he doesn’t have the pure speed to be a great deep threat, he makes up for it with his great size to make a play on the ball over smaller defensive backs. He probably won’t be asked to contribute right away, but he’s a future player, and so long as he worked his butt off, he could become a really future player. Of course, this brings up the question of who makes the team at wide receiver, but that’s a question for another piece.

Other Options: WR Martavius Bryant, WR Cody Latimer, WR Devin Street
