6th Round #198 overall: Jake Ingram, Long Snapper
6th Round #207 overall: Myron Pryor, Defensive Tackle
Long snapper Jake Ingram lasted a year and a half in New England. He was released in 2010 after suddenly struggling with his snaps. He bounced to a few teams but has been out of football. Still, a year and a half on special teams is hardly terrible from a sixth round pick.
Myron Pryor looked like a surprise contributor for a while before injuries slowed him. He was active for 13 games as a rookie carving out a role as a depth lineman and leap-frogging 2nd round draft pick Ron Brace on the depth chart on the defensive line. He actually started a couple of games in 2010 and recorded a sack and six hurries before back injuries shut him down until the last week of the season. He missed all of 2012 with injuries and now is out of the NFL.
SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED:
While teams were taking flyers on players, the other notables taken around these two were cornerback Captain Munnerlyn (#216 overall by Carolina) and defensive tackle Vance Walker (#210 overall by Atlanta). Not a lot of great value, so New England did well getting two players who at least contributed for a year or two.
