One of the biggest moves of the NFL offseason was also one of the least surprising: AJ Brown being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots. It seemed like a deal agreed upon as soon as the season ended, but the teams had to wait until June to make things official.

Either way, the Patriots are excited to finally have Brown, and the Eagles are seemingly excited to have closed the chapter on Brown’s time in Philadelphia. Of course, it’s a bit odd that a contending team like Philly would be happy to move on from such a good receiver, but the drama Brown brought to the Eagles started to outweigh the production.

While New England is only looking forward to the production, it’s fair to ask if the wideout will bring any drama with him. Patriots’ legend Tom Brady thinks the answer is no, and he recently explained why.

Tom Brady says AJ Brown should find satisfaction in the opportunities he will have with Patriots

In an appearance on the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce brought up Brown and the Eagles, asking the legendary quarterback how he managed wide receivers and their emotions about being involved in the offense.

Brady admitted it was difficult and expressed understanding of what receivers go through, since they’re the only position that isn't always naturally engaged in the offense. However, he said that he would tell receivers some days you’ll get 11 catches, some days you’ll get three, but they just have to roll with it.

As for Brown, Brady explained that he covered many Eagles games and that their passing offense wasn’t what they were known for. With Brown now in New England, what Brady calls a team more known for their passing, the former quarterback said there should be a little more satisfaction for the receiver.

It’s safe to say Brown agrees with Brady, and that’s why the receiver was so excited to make his way to New England. The numbers also support Brady’s take, as Patriots quarterback Drake Maye averaged 28.9 passes per game, more than Jalen Hurts averaged in each of the last two seasons.

Additionally, the Patriots are coming off a Super Bowl appearance, so Brown being on one of the league's best teams again should make things better. He also has the chance to be the difference-maker, as New England would have really benefited from having a true No. 1 receiver last season.
