That's our GOAT.

Tom Brady accomplished a heck of a lot for the New England Patriots, but perhaps his most iconic moment came in Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons. MVP Matt Ryan gave Atlanta a 28-3 lead halfway through the third quarter and, well... the rest is history, as they say.

And while nearly a decade has passed since Brady's penultimate championship in New England, the Falcons haven't quite recovered from that Super Bowl nightmare. Honestly, it stands to reason that they never will, that is, until they hoist a Lombardi Trophy.

But even worse for Atlanta is that they can't live it down. The team and city are constantly the butt of the joke when those two infamous numbers pop up anywhere, and Patriots fans have had no issue jumping in on the fun either. Brady is even reminding Falcons fans at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

On Tuesday afternoon, with the NFL in the depths of the offseason, many sports fans may have been glued to the Round of 16 game at the World Cup between the Lionel Messi-led Argentina and Egypt. What transpired could only remind New England and Atlanta fans of what happened in early 2017.

After getting on the board first and jumping out to a 2-0 lead early in the second half, Egypt maintained that spread until the 79th minute. Then, Messi, a GOAT himself, took matters into his own hands. Argentina scored three times in the final minutes to win 3-2 and advance.

Brady, of course, took this moment to twist the knife in the back of Falcons fans.

Even in fútból, the Falcons aren't immune to some good old-fashioned trash talk. Making matters worse is that Egypt was wearing red and black uniforms, as Atlanta was in the Super Bowl, and Tuesday's game took place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Obviously, Super Bowl LI took place at NRG Stadium in Houston, but it is poetic in a way that this epic meltdown by Egypt was in the hallways that the Falcons walk all year. What a brutal reminder in the heart of summer, when really no other news is going on around the league.

As a player, Brady is, to most, the very best to ever play. As a businessman, the longtime Patriots quarterback also seems to be doing quite well in his post-football life. But as a trash talker and victory lapper, Brady might also be the undisputed GOAT.

Leave it to an aging Messi to harken back to this iconic moment for Brady, and for the seven-time Super Bowl champion not to miss an opportunity to dunk on his opponents. It's all in good fun, but Falcons fans probably don't see the humor in it.

Oh, well.
