The full experience of Stefon Diggs in the Patriots offense took a while to come about this season, as it appeared the coaching staff was waiting to give him the go-ahead after coming off an ACL injury that ended his 2024 season. He finally had his breakout against the Bills in Week 5 and became an integral part of the offensive game plan since then.

That hasn't continued over the last three games, however, with Diggs being on the field for less than 50% of snaps, which was a noticeable problem this past Sunday. Because he torched the Bills' offense in their first matchup, the thought was he would do the same in Week 15, only to be nearly invisible for the game.

It has prompted many theories about why he has seemingly taken a step back over the past month, with some suggesting he might be injured, while others question Josh McDaniels' game-planning decisions that keep Diggs sidelined.

It's crucial that he is a big part of their offense against the Ravens on Sunday night, and based on Diggs' comments, there's no reason to be concerned about him ahead of the matchup.

Stefon Diggs clears the air regarding his health ahead of the Patriots' SNF matchup

While speaking to reporters earlier this week, Diggs was asked about the ongoing rumors about his health and quickly put the narrative to rest, suggesting that's why his snap counts have been lower.

This makes it easy to question why he's not being more involved in the game plan, beyond knowing that defenses are double-teaming him a lot.

While this clears the air about how he's feeling, it doesn't explain McDaniels's decision to use Mack Hollins over a player like Diggs.

That might be as a result of what the defenses are showing, like double-covering Diggs and forcing Maye to look elsewhere. But that can't be the case for the entirety of every game every week. They need to figure out a way to use Diggs more often, especially against a team like the Ravens.

He can be the difference maker for their offense and help move the chains, which is exactly why they signed him in the first place. He's proven to be the same Diggs he has always been, so there's no reason not use him to their fullest capacity.

At this point, it could be the difference between beating the Ravens and going home with another loss, and we know which of the two options is at this stage of the season.
