The New England Patriots lost on Sunday Night Football to the Miami Dolphins, and it's clear that this team is not going anywhere in the 2023 NFL season. I'm sorry, gang. I have been low on this team for a while now, and I hate that with each week, my prediction looks more accurate.

The Patriots lost their second-straight game to begin the season and are now 0-2. The last time they started 0-2, it was 2001 and they won the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, I don't think this team is going to the playoffs, let alone winning the Super Bowl. It was another game where the team just did not have enough playmakers on the roster to make a huge difference in the game.

Even with keeping Dolphins' WR Tyreek Hill at bay, the team couldn't do enough to stop the offense. Tua Tagovailoa went 21/30 for 249 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. While the Dolphins didn't totally brutalize the Patriots through the air, they rushed for nearly 150 yards, which was a deciding factor in the game. Mac Jones was solid for the second week in a row.

Jones went 31/42 for 231 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Patriots' run game was nowhere to be found, as Rhamondre Stevenson only rushed for 50 yards on 15 carries. Their leading receiver was DeVante Parker, catching six passes for 57 yards. Mac Jones was sacked four times and the Dolphins had six players with multiple receptions.

This was very simply the better team winning. Fortunately, the New England Patriots face off against the New York Jets in Week 3. Zach Wilson looked abysmal in Week 2, and I don't think he'll look much better in Week 3. Hopefully the Jets trot him out once again in the starting lineup.

The Pats beat the Jets in both matchups last year, and hopefully they can right the ship and get their first win of 2023.
