New England Patriots' QB Mac Jones needs to be on his best in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, or the Patriots will have another long day. The defense also needs to be at their best, but this team is more QB-driven than others, I think. I do believe that some teams in the NFL can squeak by in a given week if their QB is not at his best.

For example, I think the Dallas Cowboys have a stellar defense and run game, and I think we've seen that team win games in spite of Dak Prescott. I would say the same about the Atlanta Falcons, who have perhaps the best run game in the NFL. There are a few other teams who fit this mold, but for the Patriots, I do not think this is the case.

The New England Patriots get to host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday Night Football, and without a win here, they'd fall to 0-2, which is actually a very good historical indicator that the team would already have a very, very low chance at making the playoffs. Fortunately, the Vic Fangio-coached Dolphins' defense had a rough performance in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers, and seeing as Mac Jones did play pretty well against a much better Eagles' defense, it does seem feasible that he plays even better against the Dolphins' unit.

I'm afraid that the Miami Dolphins' offense is going to have another great day. To me, they're just too good of a unit to have a truly bad game unless the offensive line doesn't hold up or if Tua Tagovailoa isn't in the lineup. Well, the Dolphins' OL held up nicely in Week 1 with two backup tackles, so that does worry me.

We'll see if Bill Belichick has a nice plan in place to hold this Miami offense at bay. If so, and if Mac Jones can play like he did last week, the Patriots can surely win.
