Patriots' defensive star gets birthday gift from teammate
By Devin Hurst
In a viral video from New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, Bourne gifted star defensive stand-out Matthew Judon a new present for his birthday. Before traveling to Green Bay for joint practices and the team's second preseason game with the Packers, Bourne was able to surprise the Pro Bowl edge rusher with an awesome Patriots pennant attached to a brand-new chain.
In the video you can see Judon is already decked out in chains, watches, you name it. His new well-deserved restructured contract I am sure has helped foot the bill for all the expensive luxurious jewelry. This gift by Bourne though was free of charge for the Patriots defensive captain.
Around the locker room, Judon appears to be loved. Outside the locker room Patriots fans worldwide have no reason to not love the defensive star. In his stint as a Patriot Judon has put up career numbers and has even broke several franchise records. In his first season as a Patriot, he recorded 60 combined tackles, 12.5 sacks, and 25 quarterback hits. He followed that phenomenal season with an even more impressive year totaling 60 tackles, 15.5 sacks, and 28 quarterback hits.
The team travels to Green Bay to take on the Packers in a set of joint practices before playing their second preseason game Saturday night against Green Bay. It will be interesting to see how the team performs coming off a 20-9 loss to the Houston Texans in week one of the preseason. I expect to see more of the starters out there for week two of the preseason as is most cases for teams around the league. Without free agent acquisition Mike Gesicki due to injury and the depth of the offensive line being a major concern, all eyes will be on the Patriots offense to see how they can overcome these obstacles.
PS: Shout out to Kendrick Bourne and his Instagram page for all the behind scenes content he provides. Earlier this offseason, we got to see Patriots left tackle Trent Brown get a brand-new car delivered to Gillette Stadium.
