Depending on how the 2023 season goes, the New England Patriots may enact some massive changes, roster wise and organizationally. If the 2023 season goes south, expect a ton of movement to happen with this franchise, and most of it will be significant.

If the 2023 season goes well, business as usual might be the name of the game for the team. I think even if the Pats are stuck in that weird middle ground and win, let's say, eight games, we'll still see some sweeping changes.

Missing the playoffs in two of the last three seasons is simply not the expectations that come with the New England Patriots, so I think this year is a make or break year for so many different parts of this machine.

1. Bill Belichick is no longer the head coach

I think the 2023 season is simple to understand; if Bill Belichick and his Patriots' team make the playoffs this coming season, he'll keep his job for another year. I think if they miss the playoffs, perhaps outside of winning 10 or more games and somehow missing the postseason, he'll lose his job.

Missing the playoffs was never even a thought for the team for the past two decades, but now it's happened in two of the past three seasons. This is a make or break year for Bill Belichick, and the Patriots might have their head coach already in the building in Jerod Mayo.
