Kayshon Boutte, WR

One of the more polarizing picks by the Patriots this year was sixth-round pick Kayshon Boutte, a wide receiver out of LSU. His college career was full of ups and downs, and at one point he looked like he could be a Day 2 type of pick.

Instead, inconsistencies in his game and some off-field question marks were reasons he dropped to the sixth round. Boutte has a lot of guys to compete with for a roster spot, and as of right now appears to be a fringe/bubble type. Ahead of him are DeVante Parker, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Kendrick Bourne and rookie Demario Douglas. He also has Jalen Hurd right behind him, plus special teams ace Matthew Slater as well.

So far during the offseason, Boutte has already had some question marks pop up. A couple of weeks ago, Twitter went up in a blaze after a video surfaced of a Patriots coach shouting profanity toward the rookie. It raised plenty of concerns as to just what Boutte may have done or said to deserve the mouthful.

Based on his history of inconsistency, I have an inkling that Boutte isn't going to make this team. In fact, he might be just one incident away from getting the boot during camp. Sure, Boutte has a lot of potential, but the question marks might start to outweigh that potential.
