Heavy roster cuts are on the horizon across the NFL, and the New England Patriots should consider adding these players if they are indeed cut. When we get closer to the start of the 2023 NFL regular season, teams will have to reduce their rosters down significantly. This will mean that many players across the league will be cut from their teams, and this can include some notable players.

The New England Patriots are in a position to add since they do have room to improve a few units. Since 2023 appears to be a do or die year for this current organizational setup, I would not be surprised if Bill Belichick is aggressive into late August and early September. He did recently sign Ezekiel Elliott to a deal that can be worth as much as $6 million, so I do not think he'd hesitate to add to the roster further with a potential cap casualty or two.

Who could those players be?

1. La'el Collins, RT, Cincinnati Bengals

La'el Collins tore up his knee against the New England Patriots last year and likely isn't going to be ready until we're a few weeks into the 2023 NFL season. And his lone season as RT for the Cincinnati Bengals was not super pretty. However, Collins has played both guard and tackle and was a very quality tackle for the Dallas Cowboys for years.

La'el Collins would probably be the best tackle the Patriots' have if he were to sign with the team. He could probably start over projected RT Riley Reiff, which could then allow Reiff to serve as the backup swing tackle, which I think suits him best at this point. With the Bengals likely starting Jonah Williams at RT and Orlando Brown Jr entrenched at LT, Collins might not have a spot on the team.
