Mac Jones

Mac Jones was the team's first-round pick of the 2022 draft (15th overall) and has been the team's starter since less the three games he missed due to injury.

Pros:

Mac Jones has the most NFL experience of the quarterback group. He has always proven to be an accurate quarterback, whether completing 77.4% of his passes for yards in his senior year at Alabama or 67.6% of his passes in his rookie year for the Patriots.

Mac's 2021 campaign has been called one of the best seasons a rookie quarterback has ever had. He threw for 224 yards per game and had 22 touchdowns to just 13 interceptions.

Cons:

Mac's rookie season was the only good season he has had. He has thrown 24 touchdowns and 21 interceptions in the last two seasons. He throws off his back foot, can't sidestep pressure, can't read defenses, and can't tell the difference between the home and away jerseys. His mistakes are not the result of a bad bounce but usually the result of doing something he shouldn't do.

There have been reports of how good he is in the locker room, but those reports may come from his PR team since it has been reported in the days after his most recent benching that he has lost the locker room and frustrated the coaches to no end.

Conclusion:

There really is no good option at quarterback for the Patriots, and Bill is forced to pick the lesser of two evils. As a Patriots fan myself, I say put the worst guy out there. There's no point in trying to win games anymore this season. Get a top 5 pick and a real quarterback in the draft.
