FanSided recently posted an absolutely bonkers record on their Twitter account, and it just goes to show how good Tom Brady was, and perhaps how bad Mac Jones is. When you look at this stat, it really just puts things in perspective. The Patriots have been a bit of a mess since Tom Brady departed the team following the 2019 NFL Season.

The team was good in 2021, going 10-7 in the regular season, but could not build on that encouraging season. Now, all of a sudden, this team is inching closer towards the #1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which would almost certainly be USC quarterback Caleb Williams. The Patriots need a legitimate franchise quarterback, as Mac Jones is not it, and this crazy win-loss record just proves it:

I mean, my goodness. In 102 games at Gillette Stadium, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots lost just 13 times, and in 21 games for Mac Jones, he's got the same number of losses. It's just maddening and frustrating to say the least. Now obviously, Tom Brady is perhaps the greatest player in the history of the NFL, and his efficiency and dominance at home was evident.

No one came into Gillette Stadium and had their way with the Tom Brady Patriots. And now, in 2023, the New England Patriots seem to be closer to a "get right game" for other teams than a serious competitor. The Pats are currently in their bye week, so we probably won't hear a ton of news coming from the team until they return. At 2-8, the Pats might be better off losing as much as possible the rest of the way to secure the #1 overall pick in 2024.

The conversation is now at whether or not head coach and General Manager Bill Belichick is going to survive this year. My bet is he at least has one role stripped from him, but I think a total divorce is coming.
