Bill O'Brien was visibly frustrated with QB Mac Jones on the sidelines during the New England Patriots Week 10 loss versus the Indianapolis Colts. Honestly, how often do we see a coach go at a player like this? It's a pretty big indictment on Mac Jones, who has been horrid this year. And that was the case in Germany.

Mac Jones went 15/20 for 170 yards and one interception versus one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Jones had a horrible interception as well off his back foot, and he was again benched late in the game for backup QB Bailey Zappe. At this point, not only do I think Jones remains on the bench, but I do think that Bill Belichick's time in New England is up.

With the Patriots now on their bye week, it gives Robert Kraft the perfect chance to remove Belichick from the HC role and name Jerod Mayo as the interim. In that case, Mayo would surely bench Mac Jones for Zappe. The Las Vegas Raiders did something similar after firing Josh McDaniels. Antonio Pierce was named the interim HC, and one of his first moves was to bench Jimmy Garoppolo for rookie QB Aidan O'Connell.

Well, here's how angry Bill O'Brien was on the sidelines:

Folks, O'Brien is angry at Mac Jones. Sure, O'Brien does take much of the blame, but man, Mac Jones just cannot seem to put anything together. I also do wonder what happens with O'Brien if Belichick is removed as the HC and a new HC is hired. Would BOB then be a one-and-done coordinator? I could see it. What is certain though is that the New England Patriots are bad.

In fact, they currently hold the third overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, which is slowly but surely in range for Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Honestly, pick your poison with these guys. Williams has already drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes and Drake Maye is a thoroughly complete prospect.

The New England Patriots likely need to get one of these QBs to kickstart their rebuild.
