For most of Bill Belichick's tenure in New England, the Patriots were a well-practiced, tight-lipped team that followed the same motto each and every season: Do your job. It was a catchphrase that completely embodied the kind of coach Belichick was and the type of team he ran, and they flourished because of it for nearly two decades.

Now that he's moved on to college football and the Patriots are now two years removed from Belichick calling the shots, it was time for them to find a new catchphrase to live by. Jerod Mayo attempted to introduce many throughout the 2024 season, but none stuck, leaving Mike Vrabel with the job of coming up with a new one.

While that is still something we could see eventually this season, it looks more like Stefon Diggs might have been the one to come up with the newest phrase for him and his teammates to live by, and it completely encapsulates the vibe that Vrabel has brought to this team after a rough few years on and off the field.

Stefon Diggs continues to prove he's a pillar of the 2025 Patriots team with latest pregame speech

"Lean on your brother."

Although this isn't entirely new to the Patriots, as Belichick emphasized the importance of team over individual players, it has been something Vrabel has stressed since he became the new head coach earlier this year.

Even after they beat the Bills in Buffalo on Sunday Night Football, Vrabel was in the locker room, stressing the importance of working together and being there to support one another, a message that Diggs repeated in his post-game interviews.

That is something the players have bought into and continue to demonstrate during practice and on game day, which will continue to lead them to success the rest of the season.

It might not be their official catchphrase, in the way that they plastered "Do your job" all over the place, but it is certainly one the team should consider because it fits them to a T.
