The past month in New England has unfortunately revolved around Mike Vrabel allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with NFL insider Dianna Russini, rather than what the Patriots were doing as a team, such as their plans for the 2026 NFL Draft.

That remains the case now that the draft has concluded, but for the time being, it looks like the news cycle is only rehashing what we've already heard about the head coach, with a greater mix of what the team is up to with their new and returning players.

That, of course, doesn't mean we've escaped the rumor mill, as reporters continue to ask the players about the Vrabel scandal, and they couldn't avoid that reality while speaking to the media on Thursday morning.

Every player who has spoken to reporters thus far has openly supported Vrabel, and that remains consistent as more talk about the elephant in the room continues. One of the latest additions to the team, left guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, is the latest to echo that sentiment, sharing his excitement to be coached by someone as "phenomenal" as Vrabel.

More players show their public support of Mike Vrabel amid controversy

The newest Patriots' starting lineman was inevitably asked about his new head coach on Thursday, and he shared that Vrabel is being "open and honest" this offseason, and that's something he gives him credit for.

“I think just being open and honest. I think that’s key in any relationship, and I give credit to him. He’s very honest with us, very open as well. I don’t think a lot of people would be able to do that. I respect that a lot. And like I said, I’m excited to be coached by Vrabel. I think he’s a phenomenal coach in this league.”

It's the unfortunate reality that the Patriots organization finds itself in once again, as controversy, scandals, and ugly accusations seem to go hand in hand with the team over the last 25 years.

It hasn't deterred their fans from continuing to support them, nor has it derailed their ambition to be successful, and the hope is that it continues in 2026. Hopefully, there won't be any more dramas to deal with this offseason, because that's the last thing New England needs at this point.

At least for now, the team doesn't appear shaken by what's going on, and that will be crucial if they want to have a successful year after unexpectedly appearing in the Super Bowl last season.
