After falling into obscurity, slowly but surely, over the last five years, the New England Patriots are back to where they are most comfortable: in the Super Bowl. They're set to take on the Seattle Seahawks in a championship rematch ten years in the making, hoping they'll endure the same joyful fate as the last time the two teams met in Super Bowl XLIX.
For many fans, it's a nightmare scenario, not only because their team isn't contending for the Lombardi anymore, but mostly because the Patriots are back on top after a short drought. It was far from what anyone believed would be possible for the newly Mike Vrabel-led team, but they defied the odds and now represent the AFC on the biggest stage of all.
That's not something a majority of NFL fans are too thrilled about, as some of their biggest haters, like FS1's Max Kellerman, known for his embarrassing Tom Brady takes, are already making their allegiances known days before the Super Bowl takes place.
Congratulations to the #SeattleSeahawks for winning #SuperBowlLX !

And as great as this is for Patriots fans to see the world counting the team out again, there's a lot of superstition around statements like this, and they better hope it doesn't become a reverse jinx.
Max Kellerman can't help but actively root against the Patriots once again
Over the last decade, Kellerman has become widely known in New England for his outrageous takes on his most hated NFL team, more specifically, regarding the career of Tom Brady.
Besides being proven wrong time and time again, there's a good chance the analyst is hoping his loud-and-proud stance on the Seahawks becoming the next Super Bowl champions will work, rather than jinx them, in the eyes of the most superstitious.
On the surface, proclaiming that Seattle will win the Lombardi Trophy would seem to work against them, but it's actually the opposite effect Patriots fans should worry about.
Kellerman's statement clearly shows that he, like the rest of the NFL media and fans, is overlooking the Patriots and giving them no chance of coming out of Santa Clara with their seventh Super Bowl win in the last 25 years. Therefore, it could be superstitious to think they will win on February 8.
However, there's another side to that coin that produces the opposite effect of what most think he's trying to put out into the universe, which would then mean the Seahawks will win their next championship.
Regardless, this is only an issue if you are superstitious, and although most sports fans are, it's easier for a lot of people to ignore this kind of thing. That'll be what the Patriots need to do over the next two weeks, and just use this as more bulletin board material, which they will have no shortage of.
