The Patriots have dealt with their fair share of injuries early this season, the worst of which came from their offensive line. They began their Week 7 matchup with the Jaguars, starting their seventh grouping in seven weeks, which is not exactly what you want to do with a rookie quarterback under center.

In addition, there was more shifting due to Vederian Lowe's injury, who had been serving as the starting left tackle. Because of that, Michael Onwenu was moved to right tackle again despite playing far better as a guard.

That might have worked fine with rookie Layden Robinson back in the lineup after missing a few games due to an ankle injury. But his return didn't last long, as he was injured again late in the first quarter, forcing the Patriots to switch up the grouping yet again.

While Sidy Sow is no scrub and has been a good player for the team since he was drafted last year, it's still not ideal to have this much change on the offensive line, especially after already having to change it up for the seventh time this season.

The one positive aspect is that Robinson suffered the injury early enough in the game that it's possible he will be able to return. In the worst-case scenario, the offensive line will benefit from shuffling around the grouping early enough in the game that they can work well for the rest of the game.

The main concern, of course, is Robinson hasn't suffered a significant injury. Hopefully, that's the case, but no update has been provided yet.

UPDATE:

The Patriots have officially declared Robinson questionable to return. With so much time left in the game, that's the best possible outcome.
