The NFL world is coming out in full force to support former Patriots head coach Bill Belichick after he was somehow snubbed from becoming a first-ballot NFL Hall of Famer for the 2026 class. That's how you know the Hall's decision to keep him out for at least another year is bad when some of the Patriots' biggest rivals are vocally supporting their longtime nemesis.
We've already heard from several former Patriots players, with the latest to share their disappointment being WR Kendrick Bourne and Julian Edelman, but now even more prominent NFL voices are taking to social media to join the conversation, including 3-time Super Bowl Champion Patrick Mahomes.
Although the Patriots and Chiefs were previous rivals near the end of Tom Brady's time in New England, the 30-year-old didn't take long to acknowledge just how wrong it is that Belichick was snubbed from this year's class, sharing the exact thoughts Patriots fans have had since hearing the news.
Insane… don’t even understand how this could be possible https://t.co/EiKUeRPffn

We'd like to understand too, Patrick.
Those on the Hall of Fame committee have a lot of explaining to do over Bill Belichick's snub
There is no legitimate reason that someone as accomplished as Belichick doesn't make the NFL Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, so there's no explanation that the committee can provide that will justify their decision.
That's even more true with the rumors circulating that former Colts executive Bill Polian is the reason behind it all, as he is alleged to still be citing Spygate and Deflategate as reasons to keep Belichick out for at least one more year.
That calls their integrity into question and makes the Hall look even worse than they have in recent years, this being perhaps the most controversial in recent memory.
It also has many wondering if the same will be said once Tom Brady is eligible, and if he will be held out in his first year due to those controversies, too, which would be just as absurd.
But that's a valid concern at this point, and it wouldn't be at all shocking to see become a reality.
