As if the devastating loss to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl wasn't bad enough for the Patriots to begin their offseason, now they're having to deal with random cheating allegations from a known hater of the franchise on top of it all.
FS1's Nick Wright couldn't help but add controversy to New England's failed Super Bowl run when discussing the outcome of the game, highlighting Drake Maye's shoulder injury and what he believes was a "fudging" of the rules around injury reports before games.
Although the quarterback was on the injury report in the days leading up to the big game, presumably showing the team followed the league's rules, he wasn't on the final report released 90 minutes before the Super Bowl began, which Wright apparently considers a big issue.
Nick Wright wants to see the NFL take draft picks away from the Patriots for "hiding" Drake Maye's injury
He's certainly one who doesn't allow facts to get in the way of a good story, so it's unsurprising that, of all people, he would like to stir up something about the Patriots just to cloud their impressive season a bit more, and add even more frustration on the back of their heartbreaking Super Bowl loss.

"It is the quarterback of a Super Bowl team that ... the team fudged information on the final injury report leading into the Super Bowl." pic.twitter.com/MuvXsGMR2M
Just because Maye admitted he had his shoulder shot up in the days before the game doesn't mean the Patriots did anything nefarious with the injury report.
The quarterback was a full participant in practice, proving whatever injury he may have been dealing with wasn't something that was going to prevent him from playing, therefore it didn't require a designation necessarily on the injury report.
He had been listed on the report every day until the final one, released in the hours before the game, so it's unclear exactly what Wright's big issue is.
As Brendon Kleen of Awful Announcing wrote, it's possible that the analyst is "calling for an update to how the NFL produces injury reports. It appears that New England technically followed the letter of the law, even if the outcome belied the fact that Maye would be hampered on game day."
If that's his main point, that's fine. But suggesting that the Patriots did something to skirt the rules and therefore the NFL should take away draft picks is absurd and sounds more like an angry Chiefs fan who is mad the Patriots are going to be a legitimate threat to the AFC again.
