The Patriots held their first OTA session in front of the media on Wednesday, and that meant head coach Mike Vrabel spoke to reporters ahead of practice. It was the first time he had stood in front of the podium since last month's draft, so he was hit with a barrage of questions from his ongoing scandal involving NFL insider Dianna Russini to the looming trade for receiver AJ Brown.

We're less than a week away from the presumed date that the Eagles will move the three-time Pro Bowler, with the Patriots as the frontrunner to get the deal done, and there is a lot of speculation about what that trade might look like.

It was inevitably something reporters hoped to gain clarity about while Vrabel took questions, only for him to remain mum on the subject.

That might not be totally unexpected, but because it's such a massive move for the team to make, something they haven't done in a long time, there was hope that he would, at the very least, give us a hint of what might be to come.

Mike Vrabel refuses to give any new information about the Patriots' trading for AJ Brown

Although he wasn't directly asked about Brown specifically, Vrabel was asked about the Patriots' desire to add a receiver to the roster, presumably since the trade for the receiver could happen as soon as June 2.

And instead of giving any new nugget of information, Vrabel hit the reporters with the "We want to continue to improve the roster at every opportunity we get" line.

That's not much different than what we've heard from him and even GM Eliot Wolf since the conversation about Brown being traded has been connected to New England, and even though the suspected date the Eagles will move him is right around the corner, they're refusing to provide any more information on whether they are nearing a deal.

It has long been believed that the teams have struck an unofficial deal to send Brown to Foxboro, and that's a big reason they didn't make any legitimate moves for a receiver, and why Brown hasn't been seen around the Eagles all offseason.

There have even been rumors that he was looking at housing in the Boston area a few weeks ago, further pointing to an impending trade.

At this point, it's clear we won't know whether it's going to happen until the announcement is made, since neither team is willing to leave any breadcrumbs about the situation, so we're just going to have to remain patient until (hopefully) June 2.
