A lot has been said in the past month since the Patriots traded for wide receiver A.J. Brown, and for the most part, it hasn't been all that great for either the team or the player.
Besides the ongoing discussion about Mike Vrabel's involvement with NFL insider Dianna Russini, who led the charge in connecting the Patriots to the trade, there has also been a lot of talk among Eagles reporters and fans about the deteriorating relationship that ultimately led to Brown demanding a trade.
We've even heard from several Eagles players, many of whom had brief remarks, if anything at all, while a few others offered positive comments about their now-former teammate. It hasn't deterred Patriots fans' excitement about what he can bring to the offense this fall, and that was only furthered upon hearing what superstar cornerback Cooper DeJean had to say about Brown.
He's one of the very few who spoke kindly of Brown, most likely because he doesn't feel bitter about the split, unlike many others. And it was nice to hear in the midst of a barrage of negativity surrounding the Patriots and their newest weapon.
Not all of A.J. Brown's former teammates are mad that he wanted to be traded to the Patriots
DeJean spoke about Brown's trade during a recent episode of his podcast with teammate Reed Blankenship, and what he had to say certainly holds weight ahead of his debut with New England this fall.

Maybe it's because he plays for the defense, or maybe it's because he understands that the NFL is a business and sometimes things just don't work out, and that leads to a trade, but clearly DeJean said all the right things about Brown, and it's unfortunate he's one of the only Eagles players not trying to create drama out of the situation.
Obviously, we don't know everything that happened behind closed doors that made Brown so unhappy in Philadelphia. We won't ever know, either, nor do we need to.
But it didn't appear as though things were so bad that if he were traded, his former teammates would come out in droves to speak badly about him or dismiss him altogether, yet that's kind of what has happened over the past few weeks.
No matter what, he's with the Patriots now, and he is well on his way to becoming the superstar receiver they have long needed. Now Drake Maye's ceiling just rose even further, which is far from what the rest of the AFC was hoping to see this offseason.
