After a failed tenure with Mac Jones under center, which was also marred by multiple controversies involving players around the league, Patriots fans have been thankful for the arrival of Drake Maye in New England for many reasons, one of which is his southern charm and humble attitude.
It's a contrast to the Jones experience, and has become one of the most lovable parts of Maye since he was drafted nearly two years ago. His composure and poise have earned him widespread praise from analysts since becoming the Patriots' starter, as many believe he plays like a seasoned veteran, especially under pressure.
He faced a lot of adversity during his rookie season, with less-than-ideal conditions from the offensive roster to the coaching staff, but he has thrived with all the changes made by Mike Vrabel and Co.
However, that doesn't mean he hasn't been put under the spotlight, with the fate of the team dependent on his performance, as was very much the case against the Ravens this week. And what we saw from Maye, beyond an impressive comeback, was what fans have been waiting for, and some might even say was reminiscent of Tom Brady in clutch time.
Drake Maye was fired up in the midst of the Patriots comeback vs. the Ravens
From what we've seen from the quarterback so far, he is a calm, cool, and collected man and player who can thrive in any environment. Maye doesn't get too worked up when the pressure is on, but always makes sure celebrate any time the team does something well.
He noticeably turned it up a notch on Sunday night, though, and it's a moment that Patriots fans loved to see, as it was the most fired up Maye has been since he began his career in Foxboro.

That's exactly the kind of demeanor you want to see from your quarterback when the game is on the line, and they need to dial in to make a big comeback to win.
It's a big reason the Patriots managed to overcome an 11-point deficit and leave Baltimore with their seventh road win of the season. Maye played like an MVP candidate, completing 31/44 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns. He proved any and all doubts wrong and prompted even more excitement as they prepare to end the season before heading into the playoffs.
We'll need to see this kind of attitude from him moving forward, and maybe not just in the big moments that require the entire team to buy in and get the job done.
