All eyes were set on Drake Maye going into this week's matchup against the Ravens for many reasons, but especially after the Patriots' second-half collapse, which was made even worse with the lackluster showing by the quarterback.
Despite some costly turnovers early on Sunday night, Maye was motivated to get back on track in the second half, and although it took a while, he was able to lead the offense back within three points of their opponents, and threw one of the best touchdown passes of his young career to Kyle Williams.
Not only was it noteworthy because of how perfectly executed it was, but it also marked the first 300+ passing yard game Maye has recorded in his career, a feat Patriots fans have longed for all season.
OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL 😍

Making it even better is that it wasn't the only record Maye broke, further solidifying his role as the team's franchise quarterbackof the future.
Drake Maye continues to show he is the right quarterback to lead the Patriots offense for a long time
Since Tom Brady left New England in 2020, the Patriots have struggled to find the right quarterback to lead their offense.
That doesn't appear to be the case anymore now that Maye is under center, which makes breaking the curse of quarterbacks not throwing for 300+ yards since Mac Jones in 2023 even better for fans to celebrate.

It is the first time a Patriot has thrown for 300 yards since QB Mac Jones on Sept. 10, 2023, vs. Philadelphia.#NEPats pic.twitter.com/mm2PhhE1F9
There are a lot of parts of the Mac Jones era that Patriots fans would like to forget; much of it has already been forgotten, and this is one of those moments that is nice to have Maye wipe from the record books.
Now, the conversation surrounding Maye and his eligibility to be a legitimate contender for MVP can end, as the lack of 300+ yard games was a talking point for the doubters.
