When it comes to the last round of any NFL Draft, there isn't much optimism about who remains available and whether they will even make the final roster by the start of the new season. Fortunately for the Patriots, they've had good luck with late-round picks who have either gone on to make the team and be productive or, better yet, become legends in New England during their careers.
That is always the hope when the sixth and seventh rounds come around, and it could be accurate again this year with their first seventh-round selection in Missouri offensive tackle Marcus Bryant.
Although they already addressed the offensive line with Will Campbell at No. 4 and Jared Wilson in the third round, there is always a need for solid depth, making Bryant even more valuable to the offense for the upcoming season.

Bryant started for Mizzou at left tackle last season.

After making stellar selections for the defense, it's unsurprising that one of their final picks would be used on offense again, especially when a talent like Bryant is still available and is beyond worthy of a shot for the roster.

Besides being a dominating figure on the offensive line at 6-foot-7 and over 300 pounds, Bryant's versatility is a unique factor that makes him an even better pick for the Patriots' chances of putting together a stout offensive line around Drake Maye.
They have already accomplished that with some of their free agent signings and early draft picks, so Bryant's ability to play left and right tackle makes him all the more impressive. Most of his career was spent on the left side, playing opposite first-round pick Armand Membou, but he did rack up over 500 snaps on the right side.

That experience and flexibility make him invaluable on a team needing to transform the offensive line. He provides the depth they seriously lacked during the 2024 season.
Of course, his future with the team is unclear because he is a seventh-round draft pick. But he appears to have all the tools to be a contributor right away and help an otherwise struggling offensive line be far more lethal than they have been for far too long.
