For most of the last six years, the Patriots have taken a back seat to the Bills, who took advantage of Tom Brady's departure to gain dominance in the AFC East, winning the division five years in a row and making the AFC Championship Game just once.
That changed during the 2025 season, as we know, with the Patriots going on a 10-game win streak to end the year with a 14-3 record on their way to representing the AFC in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks.
The Bills had to watch as the division slipped from their grasp with no real achievements to show for it, and now they're dealing with a new controversy that is sure to be an ongoing distraction amid the unveiling of a new stadium.
But that's exactly the problem: their new stadium.
Despite spending over $2.1 billion to build a new Highmark Stadium with upgraded features and more seating, fans are already taking to social media to express their frustration with many aspects of the construction, particularly the poor architectural design choices that have created obstructed views.
It's not something that will directly impact the Patriots, who visit Buffalo once a season, but it is another reason to get a good laugh in over their biggest divisional rival, as they hope to maintain their hold on the division for a second season in a row.

Because over $2 billion was spent to build it, you'd think they'd have the most updated technology, best seating, and no ridiculous obstructed views, but they achieved the complete opposite, and nothing feels more Bills-esque than this for Patriots fans.

It's become a trending topic on Twitter/X over the past few days, and it doesn't appear to be going away any time soon.
This comes just days after the unveiling of their newest alternative uniform to honor the city's nickname, "Nickel City," which also drew a lot of harsh criticism, to the point that quarterback Josh Allen addressed it to the media.
It couldn't be a worse few weeks for the Bills, who are hoping to focus on the improvements they've made to the roster this offseason and the optimism that they can regain the division and become a legitimate Super Bowl contender again.
That's certainly what they wish fans would focus on, but based on the evidence of just how bad their stadium looks at this point, it appears they are warranted in airing their grievances given how much money they spend to attend games.
Because the problems can't be fixed ahead of the regular season, if at all, this is surely not a story that will die down over the next few weeks and will only become even bigger headline news once fans are in the stadium on a regular basis.
But that gives Patriots fans another reason to laugh, and for that, we can be grateful. Seeing them beat the Bills in their home stadium would make it even better.
