While the New England Patriots didn't come away with what would have been a league-leading seventh Super Bowl trophy, plenty of players impressed during the big game. Christian Gonzalez was one of those players, making jaw-dropping play after jaw-dropping play.

One such play was in the first half when Sam Darnold was targeting Rashid Shaheed down the field in what looked to be a completion for a big gain. Gonzalez, however, got in on the play and broke up the pass, which was still when the game was competitive.

Richard Sherman, who played in a Super Bowl against the Patriots when he was in Seattle, couldn't help but notice Gonzalez's efforts in the game. He took to social media to praise the Pats young. cornerback.

"Christian Gonzalez is putting on a CLINIC!!! 1on1 isolated and he has prevented multiple TDs. On the biggest stage showing he’s one of the Best if not the best."

Richard Sherman reacted to Christian Gonzalez stealing spotlight in Super Bowl LX

As a whole, the Patriots defense played well and were the only reason that the game was even in reach. It was a 9-0 Seahawks lead at halftime but it felt like Seattle should have been up by far more. Their offense was able to move the ball but the Patriots defense kept forcing them to settle for field goals.

Gonzalez was truly one of the shining stars in this game. Had the Patriots found a way to come from behind and win it, he'd have had to be in MVP consideration (though, yes, it'd likely have gone to Drake Maye or whichever offensive player had the big play of the game).

The Patriots spent a first-round pick on Gonzalez in the 2023 NFL Draft, and he'll be eligible for an extension this offseason. The team has plenty of cap space, and he definitely made extending him one of the Patriots' biggest priorities this spring. Well-deserved after the clinic he put on against the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX, even if New England didn't come away with the win.
