The 2023 free agency period has not even started yet, but are we able to predict the Patriots team MVP in the 2023 season?

With a new offensive coordinator in town and perhaps an offensive identity set to be established, the Patriots just might be a competitive team again.

As long as the defense can play at the level that they have been lately, they’ll be back in the playoff contention.

The Pats don’t have many elite players on their roster.  In fact, Matthew Judon might be their best and only elite player.  With free agency still ahead of us and all of the offseason programs, are we able to predict the team MVP for the 2023 season?

Who will the Patriots’ team MVP be in the 2023 season?

To me, the choice is obvious.  I think what we’ll see with the Bill O’Brien offense is a very strong rushing attack that comes early and often.  With obvious limitations with Mac Jones and some unknowns with the pass catchers, my early prediction for the 2023 team MVP is Rhamondre Stevenson.

Stevenson was a 2021 draft pick out of Oklahoma and shared the backfield with Damien Harris in 2021.  In 2022, Stevenson took that lead back role over as Harris struggled with some injuries.  Stevenson took off a bit.

He had 210 rushing attempts in 2022 and rushed for 1,040 yards and five touchdowns.  He averaged 5.0 yards per carry and also added 69 receptions for 421 yards.

With being a receiving threat as well as a huge threat on the ground, I like O’Brien to center the offense around Stevenson unless the Patriots are able to get someone like DeAndre Hopkins in town.

Stevenson seems on pace to rush for well over 1,000 yards in 2023, and O’Brien has had some very strong rushing offenses with the Texans in the NFL.

He ranked 13th in the NFL in rushing and was 10th in yards per carry.  Both of these numbers were done running behind a poor offensive line, especially at the tackle spots.

Keep your eye out for Rhamondre Stevenson in 2023.  I think he’ll explode.
