Brutal week for the bold predictions last week as the only one that ended up being correct was the Patriots picking off Zach Wilson at least twice. Mac Jones threw only one touchdown, and it wasn’t to Jonnu Smith. Despite four quarterback pressures, Matthew Judon could not come up with any sacks and although Isaiah Wynn was active, he did not start. Need to get on the right track heading into the bye week so here’s my five bold predictions for what may happen as the Patriots jockey for playoff positioning against the Colts.

Five bold predictions for Patriots in week nine

Jakobi Meyers records at least seven receptions

The most consistent receiver on the team, Meyers showed how valuable he is last week as the Patriots offense struggled against a solid Jets defense. While the outside receivers were shut down by the Jets corners, Meyers was able to find spots underneath and tallied a season-high nine receptions including a touchdown. This week, the Patriots face another good secondary so I would expect Jones to look for Meyers again. In the last two full games Jones and Meyers have played together this season, Meyers has recorded 18 receptions on 26 targets. In fact, over the past nine games they’ve played together, Meyers has led the team in targets all nine times.
