Three bold predictions for the New England Patriots in 2022
Three bold predictions for the 2022 Patriots: Damien Harris rushes for his career total in 2022
Damien Harris has 1,632 rushing yards in his career. I think he’ll rush for that many yards in 2022.
Harris’ career thus far has gotten gradually better. From only rushing for 12 yards in 2019 in two games, to rushing for 691 yards in 2020 in 10 games, to rushing for 929 yards in 2021 in 15 games, Harris’ career arch would tell us that he’s set to explode in 2022.
And why wouldn’t he? It’s likely that he would start the season as the starting running back, or 1a to Stevenson’s 1b.
We know he’s a very gifted runner who rushed for 15 touchdowns in 2021, and has played in more games in each season of his career.
Right now, his career arch thus far would tell us that he’s going to rush for well over 1,000 yards in 2022.
So why can’t be rush for over 1,600? If the team does end up having to rely on the ground game, Harris is more than capable of carrying the load.
He rushed for 1,000 yards two times during his four year Alabama career.
From year two to year three, Harris rushed for over 134% more yards. Meaning, his yardage total jumped 134% from 2020 to 2021.
The big key here is Harris being able to stay healthy. He’d likely need to play in all 17 games to reach this total, but I think it’s very doable.
