Patriots: Mac Jones makes incredible donation to Boys & Girls club
On Tuesday, March 29, New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones visited the Brockton Boys and Girls Club to present a charitable donation.
Jones is entering into his second year with the Patriots organization, and this offseason he’s taken the time to get settled into his new community.
Aside from giving these students the afternoon of a lifetime, Jones gifted the club with a $100,000 donation, which will go a long way to help the Brockton Boys and Girls Club . Jones was given a tour of the facility so he could see what exactly his donation was going toward.
He spoke to those in attendance, met with more of the children, and posed for some photos shortly after revealing the generous news.
After anything but normal first season due to COVID-19 protocols, Jones was excited to get back to doing in-person charity events. In a quote taken from Boston.com, Jones said:
"“Helping younger kids is kind of what my passion is — young people, whether they like sports or not, to help them reach their dreams.”"
Many of the students took the opportunity to show off their skills to the starting quarterback, with a few eager to flaunt their football highlights. It was also a chance for Jones to connect with them one-on-one, and even bust out his dance moves.
To no surprise, Jones’ famous “griddy” made an appearance — the celebration dance that he did at the Pro Bowl that went viral. The kids may have given him a pointer or two on how to execute it better, though.
On top of all of the fun that Jones brought to the club, he also was there to offer guidance and support to the students, whether it was about football/sports or general topics.
Jones is a community-driven person – participating in many charity events and giving back whenever he can. This is something he was actively involved with when he played for Alabama, and something he plans to continue in his professional career.
Patriots fans love to see Jones getting acclimated to the community so easily. Many Patriots players are advocates for charities in New England, and we’re glad Jones is one of them.
