Pick Analysis. CB. Clemson. 1. player. Scouting Report. 879. Andrew Booth Jr.

While Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner and Derek Stingley Jr. are generally regarded as the top two cornerbacks in this draft, the tier below them features names like Booth, Trent McDuffie, and Roger McCreary, just to name a few. Booth is starting to separate from the rest of the pack.

Booth is a technically proficient corner that won’t need much instruction from Belichick before he’s ready to go on the attack. With solid ball skills and tackling that stands out despite his size, Booth would be a very nice addition for a secondary that could lose JC Jackson in the coming days.

Andrew Booth Jr. fits the New England Patriots.

Booth is not as athletically jaw-dropping as some of the other first-round DBs. With a high pad level and some questionable change of direction skills, Booth could be in for a bit of a tough introduction to the pros before he eventually settles down and becomes a star.

Booth is the type of corner Belichick has had success with. He can teach pad level and things of that nature, but with solid mirroring and an ability to create turnovers, he should be able to get instant playing time as a rookie in a lethal Pats defense.
