Tom Brady has started his 2021 season like a man on a record-setting revenge mission, which is tough to comprehend considering he already won a revenge Super Bowl in 2020 at age 43. How much Patriots revenge does one man need? How much aggression does this beloved NFL figure have bottled up?

Answer? A lot more, and a lot.

Brady departed the Pats after a 2019 season when the divorce had felt inevitable long before it became official. His receiving corps had been decimated. He wasn’t getting as much help as a six-time (and defending!) Super Bowl champion likely deserved.

When he hiked to Robert Kraft’s house and delivered his final message, we were shocked just because we couldn’t believe the rift was real, but our minds weren’t flattened. It wasn’t impossible to believe Brady would eventually pave the way for his own successor and get to experience a little more freedom in the process.

TB12 isn’t going to give Patriots fans the full story until long after his career is over (if ever), but that’s why we love Tom Brady Sr.

The elder Brady just doesn’t give a hoot, and told NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran everything he needed to know this week about his son’s exile.

Tom Brady Sr. did not hold back about his son’s exit from the Patriots.

As TB Senior stated:

"Tom Brady Sr. joined NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran on The Patriots Talk podcast this week and he was asked if the Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl last year made made him feel vindication for his son.“Damn right,” he said. “Damn right. Belichick wanted him out the door and last year he threw 56 touchdowns. I think that’s a pretty good year.”Curran then asked if Brady feels the same way?“Damn right,” Brady Sr. said.Well then."

56 touchdowns might end up looking minuscule when this season wraps up; Brady’s sitting at nine touchdown passes through two games, and the Buccaneers seem to be giving him special attention when their offense is in the red zone.

Typically, he (and usually Rob Gronkowski) are getting a chance to finish their drives off.

Hey. It is what it is.

Just when we thought Gronk’s appearance on the Manning Cast was going to be the must frustrating moment of the week for Patriots fans.

Adorable.

The younger Brady will be returning to Foxborough Week 4, and if you think he won’t be extra motivated to take down his successor, you don’t know the man whose father just did a radio hit claiming he’s “vindicated” regarding his departure.

Every one of Brady’s remaining years will be a “revenge” season, this one in particular based on his behavior so far. Get used to it.
