After breaking a slew of franchise records in free agency and enjoying a stellar showing in the draft, the New England Patriots look poised to return to the playoffs next season.

However, for as much as they overhauled the roster, nothing will be guaranteed. After all, the Patriots will be playing in one of the toughest divisions in the league, as the Bills and Dolphins both notched double-digit wins last campaign and improved this offseason.

With the 2021 schedule officially released, the Patriots, on top of playing those two inner-division contenders twice, can finally get a taste of their upcoming opponents…which includes welcoming one Tom Brady back to Foxborough when they face the Buccaneers.

New England Patriots full 2021 schedule

Like every year, the Patriots will prepare for six divisional matchups. They take on the rebuilding Jets Week 2 (Sept. 19) on the road and welcome Zach Wilson to town in Week 7 on Oct. 24, whereas their highly-anticipated showdowns against the playoff-hopeful Dolphins will fall on Sept. 12 to open the campaign at home, followed by a Week 18 matchup in Hard Rock Stadium when the weather has hopefully relented on Jan. 9. Of course, their toughest fixtures will come when they lock horns against Josh Allen and the Bills on Dec. 6 in Buffalo in primetime and Dec. 26 at Gillette.

Other highlights include the New Orleans Saints coming to town for a Week 3 game without Drew Brees in an assignment that got much easier a few months ago, and Baker Mayfield testing the waters in Foxborough to prove his contender status in Week 10 on Nov. 14.

You mean we really get the chance to intimidate Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill with a full house?! How could we possibly be more excited?!

We know one question still remains, though, and yes…the rumors are true.

Patriots Schedule: When will the Patriots play the Buccaneers?

As far as out-of-division matchups are concerned, the Patriots will not have it easy, as they’re slated to face off against five teams who made the playoffs last year. Their clashes against the Chargers, Cowboys and Falcons are nothing to scoff at, either.

Tom Brady and his Buccaneers come to town, as rumored, in Week 4, so if you’re interested in obtaining what could be the hottest ticket in NFL history, we recommend acting fast.

As far as schedule reveals go, an “unboxing video” is pretty nifty. Unfortunately for the Patriots, we now also want to get our hands on these toys, which do not exist.

Now we’re thirsty for the season to get started and want to purchase something that can’t be bought! We’re both bummed and excited.
