The Patriots season is a couple days away and Julian Edelman has NE fans ready.

Fans in New England might still be reeling from the departures of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski, but Julian Edelman is here to lift everyone’s spirit. The 2020 Patriots might be far from the edition fans have been used to for the past two decades, but this squad still isn’t going to fade into irrelevancy just because it lost a few guys.

We’re in Foxboro! Where everybody knows your name! Whether it’s returning players or newcomers, the Patriots family welcomes everybody right off the bat, so it’s almost like nothing’s changed.

So this Cheers-themed Patriots video Edelman posted on Friday should get everyone even more in the mood for Week 1.

Truth be told, this HAS to be the 276th episode of “Cheers” if NBC can make it happen. If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, Robert Kraft has to set aside a budget for that. No questions.

Edelman, Kraft (and his son Jonathan), Chase Winovich, Stephon Gilmore, Devin and Jason McCourty, N’Keal Harry, James White, Cam Newton and Bill Belichick were featured in the credits of this one, but we also saw Joe Thuney, Josh McDaniels, Gunner Olszewski, JC Jackson (and a couple of others) hanging out in there. Well done.

While Cam got an “introduction,” we think it’s safe to say he already feels like a tenured member of the team after all he’s done this offseason.

Patriots fans are certainly hoping, if all goes well, Newton’s 2020 won’t merely be a guest appearance since the team still needs an answer at QB for 2021 and beyond.

With all the turmoil the organization underwent since the loss in the AFC Wild Card Game back in January, this turnaround has been remarkable. The Pats are still the favorites to win the division, have overcome a league-high in opt-outs due to the pandemic, and had no absences in practice on Friday.

Cheers to that.
